If you think you can do all the accounting yourself…..be very careful. Why do we get a plumber to do our plumbing or a lawyer to do our legal stuff? There are very good reasons. Get an accountant! Don’t be price sensitive. If you buy a pair of shoes for £1, you know they won’t last. If your only basis for choosing an accountant is price, you are losing before you even start. Look at where they will add value. That is the question. Grill a few accountants. Do your homework, And then go with your gut…! You will know – don’t get swayed by the offer of cheap accountancy; that leads to cheap and messy results. And get a piece of software. We live in the 21st century….spreadsheets are cumbersome and outdated. If you want real-time advice, get with the programme!
